This is my writing assignment comparing The Outsiders movie and book. My favorite quote was“Stay gold Ponyboy” which means Do not go tuff and stay like yourself because you are once in a lifetime. My opinion of both the movie and the book are pretty good. The book was only a little better because it was longer and it had more parts on the other hand the movie you can hear and see more and feel more when you can actually picture it.
Johnny and Dallas who comes to help them get injured and they go back home to the hospital. After a rumble and a few deaths Ponyboy gets over his trauma and writes his English theme about his story called The Outsiders. This book was made into a movie in 1983. This book is a very good example of a movie with many similarities and differences. It sticks very well to the book but there are several differences as well.
In 1983, Francis Ford Coppola created the film version of S.E. Hinton’s book The Outsiders. In the movie and the book, the story takes place in a town where people are segregated by where they live. People on the east side were called greasers, and people on the west side were referred to as the socs. The main character remains the same in both the movie and the novel; his name is Ponyboy. In the book, and the story basically the same thing happens to Ponyboy, with a couple differences sprinkled here, and there.
There are comparisons and contrast in the movie and the book “The Outsiders”. For example in both when Ponyboy and Johnny run away from after killing Bob they go on the train to the abandoned church in both. They are similar because in the story and movie Johnny kills bob then runs away with Pony. They go to Dally where he gave them a pistol and told them to jump on the train and get off at the second stop Windrixville and go to the abandoned church on top of jay mountain. Another example of similarities between both is they still have all the main characters in the greaser gang.
"Outsiders" Compare and Contrast Essay The “ Outsiders” movie and novel are awkward and interesting. Upon watching both they appeared to be somewhat similar. However, after finishing the movie and having time to reflect they have distinct differences.
There are many similarities between the outsiders movie and book, here are some of them. In the movie and the book, Johnny and Ponyboy share a strong bond, but they nonchalantly add this factor throughout the book and movie. As I watched The Outsiders movie I realized that there were many differences and similarities to the book. Overall, me being picky, personally thought that the movie was different from the book. I liked the movie, however, I think that I would probably like the movie better if I hadn’t had read the book, that way I would feel so strongly about the who I think the characters are. The scenes were pretty accurate to the book in the movie and there weren’t a lot of scenes that were different, or not in the movie. One of these times was in was in the rumble when it started raining, even though it didn’t in the movie.

Think about this. Are you interested in a book that can tear you up? That can make you look at yourself and say “Wow, Thank god I’m not them.” Well, the Outsiders is the perfect book for that.
A book and a movie can be both the same and different. In The Outsiders there are many similarities and differences with the book and movie. They were the same because Johnny kills a man, they cut their, there was the movie scene, and Johnny and Ponyboy went to the church. Some of the differences is when Darry slaps Ponyboy but in the movie he pushes him, Johnny doesn't bring a lot of food in the book but does in the movie he does, when Johnny killed the man it was more described but it wasn't in the movie, and Johnny says he wants to kill himself in the movie. The Outsiders: Compare and Contrast In the novel “The Outsiders,” by S.E Hinton and the movie by Francis Ford Coppola have numerous similarities and differences. Our thoughts on these particular aspects are very diverse as the universe is. Many things have been either left out or diminished from the movie, which makes it less interesting as the suspense lessens as you have finished reading the book. Although this might be the case, there were also many similarities between the two sources.
Have you ever viewed a piece of media that was astonishingly great, and had a theme that you can learn from? For me, that was The Outsiders—the movie and novel alike. From these 2 pieces of media, I was able to learn individuality and apply it to myself. Though many themes are present in The Outsiders, individuality stood out to me, as it is heavily developed, through character and plot. The Outsiders heavily develops the theme of individuality in the novel and film adaptations alike.
In this essay I will be comparing and contrasting the book “The Outsiders” and the movie “The Outsiders”. The Outsiders novel by S.E. Hinton and The Outsiders film by Francis Ford Coppola compliment each other well because they are similar when looking at the characters personalities and setting, yet refreshingly different when looking at the characters descriptions. The movie outsiders is different from the book in describing the characters descriptions, for example Dally Winston. In the book they said “his hair was almost white it was so blonde” (Hinton 10).
The Outsiders The Outsiders book and movie have the same story line, but there are details that are different. They are both about the rivalry between the Socs and Greasers, along with what it was like to be in a gang in the 1960s. The narrator is Ponyboy, a 14 year old Greaser, whose lives with two brothers after their parents died. All three brothers are in a gang together, along with 4 other guys.
Movie review The movie The Outsiders was a story about two rival gangs and the friendships and tension between the members. This story was set around the late 1960’s, and based off of the novel by S.E. Hinton. The book was made into a movie in 1983 and the director was Francis Ford Coppola. The screenplay was made by Kathleen Rowell. This book had a very unique plot because there were a lot of twists in the story and there was a lot of events where the cause and effect of the choices made by the characters had a negative effect on each other.
