In the time of 1909 to 1984 which is the time of polish author Anna Swirszczynska who wrote the poem “The Sea and the Man” witnessed a great uprising of several different powers. The Germans took over and had Nazi soldiers invade Poland only to later be followed by the communist of Russia to take over parts of Poland and suppress the polish people. Through symbolism of the sea, to the length of the poem, and an allegory based on the authors past with her history through the Nazi and Russian supremacy.
