There were numerous reasons for an increased movement during 1750 to 1901. With the negative impacts of an increased movement of people, there were also positive impacts of the movement of people. Four topics that influenced an increased movement of people were the Industrial revolution, Imperialism, convicts and settlers and slavery. Which all brang a positive impact for an increased movement of people.

Countries like Britain,France, Portugal and Belgium all did imperialism. Where the main goal of imperialism was to colonize land inorder to obtain valuable resources, which they could sell to other countries. An example of imperialism was Britain colonizing America in 1607-1783 for the resources of lumber,tobacco,rice and dried fish. Britain was the biggest empire. Britain colonized America to obtain goods and transport convicts, which they did between the years 1718-1775,transporting 52000 convicts, ending the colonization due to America wanting independence, which caused a war to outburst from 1775-1783 with the result of America winning. Close rivalry to Britain was France colonizing 20 African states while Britain captured 22 african states. American independence gave Britain a struggle on where to send their convicts. The British empire decided to colonize Australia from 1788-1901. Long term negative effects of imperialism were social discrimination which encouraged the slave trade, exploited the natives land and resources and caused a lead to cultural damage. Negative impacts at the time of imperialism were poor working conditions, high tax rates and exploitation. While positive effects were more employment, religions and food production
