The Princess Bride starts off very weird. It starts out talking about an imaginary country, which is Florin and the author gives credit to the original author, S. Morgenstern, who doesn’t exist either. This book was not my favorite, because the plot never really picked up. The Princess Bride is the novel about a young girl named Buttercup who lives on a farm with her parents. Working on that farm is a farm boy named Westley. A Count and Countess visit their farm to discover the secret of their excellent cow milk. Count Rugen cannot stop staring at Buttercup and the Countess cannot stop staring at Westley. Buttercup was riding through the woods one day and three men kidnap her. They were paid by Prince Humperdinck to kill her and leave her on the gilder frontier. They later realize that someone is following them, a mysterious man in black. While climbing the face of a rock, they are followed up by the man in black. They reached the top first and cut the rope that they used to climb up. The man in black tried to manually climb up the face of the rock. The man in charge of the kidnappers, Vizzini, tells his Spaniard, who is an excellent swordsman, to stay behind and fight the man in black. They battled and the man in black prevailed. He quickly caught up with Vizzini’s second man, a Turkish giant. They battled in hand to hand combat and the man in black won again. He then caught up with Vizzini, and the fought a battle of wits. The man in black poured a poisonous powder in two goblets filled with wine. Both men drank and Vizzini died. The man in black escaped with Buttercup and raced along the hills. The man in black is standing by a cliff and Buttercup, in anger, pushed him over the side of the cliff. While falling, the man in black says, “ As you
