As the standard of living gets harder and harder to maintain; people find that it’s also harder to maintain their homes. Becoming homeless is increasing as standards of living create problems as people cannot live with runty wages.Under the bright lights on major cities are the dredges of those crushed under the wheel-- the refuse that we call homeless. Some are led by addiction, or financial problems or domestic violence--all ranging from different ages and backgrounds, even military ones. Homelessness causes problems for everyone, and businesses are caught in between. On one hand, this could actually help as location is needed for a business and finding a better place can help the business.There is also the benefit of reaching more people depending on the location and a bigger space.The other side of that is that some businesses cannot afford to do this as a good location can cost more than a pretty penny. Also you could easily have the same problem, but in a different area so there is no real guarantee that you will be in a better position than where you were before. Also a solution is to hire security.When the 99 cent store hired a security guard outside the store, they had less issues.In fact, some rarely even went into the store as they were watched by the new guards.Soon Ross picked up on this and finally K-mart.My manager at -mart told me that a lady said to her that “she would not shop here anymore.” When asked why the lady replied that she did not feel safe going towards her car with the homeless about. The lady who I 'm guessing is in her sixties to seventies makes a valid point as it is not safe for people like her to walk out to her car around six, seven eight, nine or ten o 'clock p.m with no safety. And since most of the shoppers bring their kids, it’s unnerving for someone at a young age. Some of the homeless have mental issues and you never know what is going to happen. I was really happy when we got a security guard at k-mart and I even told one of them thanks for making me feel a ton safer. Unfortunately, they only are on duty a certain amount of time and on certain days, so you may or may not have all-day; everyday
