In the film industry, the job of the production manager is extremely because they are used and understood in the motion picture industry. They could be assigned to work concurrently on one or more productions. In details, some things that a production manager could be doing are prepare shooting schedule, prepare the budget, assist in the preparation of the production to insure continuing efficiency etc. Also, the productions manager’s job is not one of artistic creativity. The “PM is not involved in the process of screenwriting, has no influence on the choice of actors, and does not make directing decisions”. Additionally, the skills that I am learning in college that would be translatable to this position is collaboration. In college, I have been assigned to work with my classmates on many project and it has helped me get better at working with people around me and communicate better with people. The reason is that there are many processes and problems must be deal with such as get a good estimate of the size of a production, how long the shooting period, and much more. Additionally, a “script breakdown sheet is the single most important production form during this phase because all future reference and production work will be based on it”. Things on a script breakdown sheet could be “scene number, name of location or set where scene takes place, or scene description”. Using these information, I could apply them to a production board by transferring all of the details from the breakdown sheet onto the production board by using software programs. If I am the PM, I will put the production board together with the help of the AD and get it discussed, checked and rechecked with the director of the
