The Progressive Movement took place in the 1800's through 1920 and it had a large effect on many people during the period.The problems that people dealt with in the period were from industrialization, immigration, and urbanization. People who tried to help reform the government from these horrible conditions were called muckrakers. Many people contributed to help out America's problems and soon enough they were solved. Industrialization had flaws and benefits for all peoples . The benefits that came from it was work that immigrants looked for to survive . But along with the work came many issues , that needed fixing . Industrialization was known mainly for the problems it caused people who worked in factories. The economy at the time was horrible. So everybody in the family had to work, including kids just to get by. The effect of this was kids getting no education from not going to school to work , so they were basically stuck working in factories. Low wages and long hours took a hit on families. It was like a domino effect, since there was low wages workers had to work long hours to get some money to get by. Just to add on to the negatives, this was why kids had to work to help their families . Kids often got injured on the job , since they worked long hours they were often tired and clumsy . Which led to getting injured because of it. Although kids got injured, they had to continue working because their family couldn't afford a family member not working. Luckily for workers the president at the time was Theodore Roosevelt , he helped shorten hours and
