Have you ever experienced the joys of hunting? You may never get to because some people are trying to ban it. Although hunting can cause extinction it also stops overpopulation. Hunting is good for controlling the animal population. This matters because when there is too much of one animal it throws off the whole ecosystem. People are trying to ban hunting because of poachers but there's more to hunting than some poachers. For example, in the text “FROM THE EDITOR: Gone hunting.” by Ann Tom it says “ I was hoping they would circle around and head in my direction but they were on a mission and I never saw them again”. This shows that she wasn’t a poacher because a poacher would’ve gone and killed the buck or the doe’s no matter what and they don’t in the text. Another example of this in the text is “My tags were filled, my hunting season was over, and my heart was happy”(Ann Tom). For example, in the text “Hunting vs. no hunting”by Sports Afield it says “ Not surprisingly, poachers slaughtered more than 5,000 of the 6,000 elephants”. This shows that poachers kill animals for one part because they kill elephants for their tusks and nothing else. Poachers can make millions off killing two or three elephants, and to them it’s easier to kill elephants and make money than to either protect them or kill another animal. As soon as all the elephants are gone poachers are just going to move on to the next animal that they can make millions off
