The society that is present today depends on multiple ways to obtain fossil fuels in order to have energy for multiple processes. However, there is much environmental impact that occur when these methods are implemented, most of which are negative. One of those methods of obtaining fossil fuels is hydraulic fracking. The process of fracking occurs when pipes are drilled into the shale rocks and then high pressured water and chemicals are sent down. This causes gas to come back up to the surface, but also has chemical leakage into groundwater which is above the shale rocks. This method proves to harmful to those who reside within the site of operation as their water supply is contaminated. This results in those families not having clean drinking water, which leads to health related issues and economic struggles. While there are plenty to present to the members of Congress, much is appreciated for time taken to consider this formal proposal. As most members are aware, there is much concern in the Environmental Protection Agency, or the EPA, dealing with the current environmental conditions in the United States. One of the greater concerns is the issue of obtaining fossil fuels to use as energy sources, which has been ongoing for much time. Many of the methods that are used to acquire fossil fuels often pollute their surroundings and cause environmental issues. Of those methods, the process of hydraulic fracking is at the forefront of problems currently occurring.
