Legalising or decriminalising cannabis is a very prominent and controversial issue in society wherever in you are in the world. It is often dealt with heavy criticism to what individuals would seem is the stereotypical view that all drugs are bad for you and have no benefit whatsoever.
Throughout this essay I will be examining the developments of the law on prohibition in various countries and within this jurisdiction in Ireland, and finally giving a conclusion on whether cannabis should be legalised or decriminalised in Ireland for both medicinal and recreational use

It is important for us to compare our level of population with America to Irelands, in looking at, is there a need for Ireland to legalize marijuana or are we better off decriminalising it and having a controlled environment whereby it is allowed to smoke a limited amount of cannabis

And I believe for Ireland, to start off with it is better for our country to firstly decriminalize cannabis just for recreational use. And in time monitoring the situation in Ireland and how the population deals with decriminalising cannabis, that if it becomes essential for us that we should legalise cannabis for both medicinal and recreational use
