Whether Nuclear Power is Safe?
Nuclear power is a new category of environmental-friendly energy which was first taken advantages of in 20th century. However, as the acknowledge of nuclear power began to be exposed more to human, the controversial debate, "whether nuclear power is safe" among scientists as well as experts occurs. While Alex Epstein(2011) maintains his view that nowadays, nuclear power is the most safe and uncontaminated energy which should be recognized rightly by the authorities, Bert Olivier(2013) insists that nuclear power has too much risky potential which should not be developed in the long run. In addition, Ambrose Evans-Pritchard(2013) announces a new point of view that China is working hard on the brand clean nuclear energy abstracted from thorium so that in the future, nuclear power will become more safe and unpolluted. In my perspective, although nuclear power is dangerous and difficult for people to control and take advantage of right now, with the development of technology and science, it will be well used safely in the near future like what Ambrose has mentioned. …show more content…

Alex Epstein(2011) claims that the shutting down of seven Germany nuclear companies leads to the 10% decrease of Germany's ability to gather electrics and will make the people endanger. Besides, he personally concludes that comparing with other four categories of energies which can be used practically, nuclear power, which releases little radiation, is the safest one in existence. In addition, according to Bert Olivier(2014), nuclear power is carbon-free and effective for people to use. Furthermore, in the light of Ambrose(2013), in the near future, nuclear power reactor will not reach a high temperature thanks to its cooling systems so that the Fukushima catastrophe would not happen
