Whenever U.S politics considered the question of euthanasia, they consistently stated that it is inadmissible, and legalizing it in our society is inhumane and damaging. In the state of Oregon law on medical suicide (Death with Dignity Act) was adopted in 1994, but only came into effect in November 1997, after fierce litigation over its cancellation. Opponents of the adoption of this law state that it will begin mass pilgrimage of terminally ill people in the world, so far the only place where euthanasia procedure can be carried out in compliance with all legal formalities. Lately in our country there has been talk about suicide when physician assisted. Although some doctors say that medical mediated suicide is a totally different thing, in reality, it's all the same euthanasia, with a difference in process. Physician assisted suicide is still suicide, it’s not the right choice, it’s unethical and there’s no dignity in it.

However, the argument based on compassion is misplaced, because the best way to show compassion to the person is to take care of them till death. At present, the hospice movement, coupled with advanced medical technology can adequately relieve pain and suffering in almost all patients except for only the most extreme cases. Experience shows that as soon as the pain recedes, many patients cease to seek death. The best way to treat a dying man with dignity and respect is to provide him with the necessary care and to make his life as comfortable as possible and complete.
