Over many years of imprisoning the bad people in the world, we have created an overplaying cycle: recidivism. This means that once the prisoner serves his time, he is released and immediately lands himself right back in jail. Studies have proved that this is because of the lack of education they receive while imprisoned. The many years of research say that prisoners who participated in the educational system of their jail are more likely to stay out of prison once released. The author of the article wrote this in favor of the prison education system. She believes that school teaches a person of any age that you do get second choices in life you just have to make the right choices. It teaches you manners and better social skills. This makes prisoners less likely to break their parole or lose their place of order. Studies also help support the author’s beliefs by proving that an education program for prisons are more likely to lead to positive advances and keeping them out of jail. On the other side of it all, the author makes it a point to say that it will cost loads of money. The public’s interest is not set on the men and women who bring bad their way. Not only do you learn what you will be doing for the rest of your life, but you also learn real-world life skills such as manners, speech, socially, etc. You learn how to act around others and to just ignore a person when they’re being nasty. The research made on this project prove that education does and will help the future of prisoners and their way through life. Although, a downside I do see to this is if they refuse to participate in learning. People will only be losing their money for nothing. Taxes will continue to be spent prison education while nothing good comes out of, it could make no progress at all if the majority refuse
