Social impact bonds allowed investors to do the job of the government in a way that insure a good outcome for the society. Many countries such as the United Kingdom and the United States have started it many years ago. One of newest countries that will work to pilot social bonds is New Zealand (New Zealand Ministry of Health, 2015). This essay will define the concept of social bonds and it will describe the advantages and disadvantages of using social bonds for delivering social services. Starting with the advantages, which are helping people, do the job faster and it will generate more profit. It will also look at the disadvantages, which are that it could be risky for the investors; the investors will take the easiest cases leaving the hard cases without an improvement and how it is hard it is to measure the outcomes. For example in the U.K the Essex County Council achieved their outcomes, which is less needs of the children to be in the care which is and it could be measured by the number of days to be in the care (Jeram& Wilkinson, 2015). So that helps the children to have a less needs of the care and helps to improve the standard of living in the U.K, which is an important part to do. Another plausible advantage is to do with the services and to improve the standard of living much faster because always when the government involves in improving something it takes forever to finish it. For example if New Zeeland government started social impact bonds program they could save time and make the job done faster by having the business investors help implement the program.
