Is a sport a sport if you have no physical contact at all? In today’s society people have so many different views on how a sport is a sport. According to Oxford Dictionary a sport is “An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment” (Oxford Dictionary, 2018.) Gaming is rather sectioned off as a different type of sport, its owned name is eSports. eSports stands for electronic sports, so playing a game electronically. The people that are uneducated about gaming will find that this type of sport is for mainly professionals only. Gaming is usually misunderstood by most people with how people think. People think that if all you do is play video games and eat that your fat. You could be very fit like all the professional athletes out there and play professional video games as a sport. I’ve personally have seen people like that and have a perfect life or seem to at least of a decent life with all the financial things perfect .Professional gaming is already a sport that is why ESPN took control of this and now this is know as eSports. If a certain amount of people did not think this was a sport than it would not be, but all it takes is one person to stir everything up. In this case I know there was definitely more than one person in the world that thought this was a sport or at least considered it as a sport. “It is very easy to immediately think of basketball or baseball when one thinks of sports, so it makes sense we have a hard time thinking of something as a sport if it does not remotely resemble them,” according to Lowe (2017, para. 17).
