All of TSA procedures are random; not everyone goes through the same. This makes it easy for them to mess up and miss something. When you are on an international flight to the United States you are randomly picked to have all of your possessions searched. They should search everyone not just certain people because there is no way of telling who has something dangerous or illegal. Today, the TSA guidelines are changing and they are going to the same procedure with international and domestic flights, especially for people who have laptops and tablets. TSA agents will randomly choose travelers and make them turn on their laptops and tablets (Miller 11). After 9/11 when TSA was created they came out with rules thinking that items can cause a plane to come down when there was actually no proof. No one has ever taken down a plane because they had more than three ounces of a liquid (Matthews para. 3). TSA is trying to solve problems that have never been a problem before. Every time TSA will catch the four-ounce liquid bottle, but there is a big chance they might not find an actual bomb. The agency tents to brag about how they find people with materials that could make a bomb, but their story never adds up. TSA caught Jason Brown, an Army vet who had some materials to make a bomb in his checked bag and publicly bragged about catching him (Matthews para. 7). Brown only had a few materials that could be used for a bomb and it was in his checked luggage. Agents can catch items that could create a bomb in checked luggage, but as I wrote earlier they did not catch a fake bomb on a person back. The fake bomb was together and had all the right parts a real bomb has, but Brown only had a few items that are parts of a bomb. TSA agents have too many items to look for and it is causing mistakes. It is a time for a change in TSA and the guidelines that is placed in airports across the United
