He then sent Meriwether Lewis, with his former military superior and chosen co-captain, William Clark, on an expedition into the West (Britannica). They and their team of over thirty men, the Corps of Discovery, set off with their goal not only to document their discoveries, but also to establish ties with native people, expand the American fur trade, and search for the Northwest Passage (Klepeis, 24). Along the way, the group faced countless dangers that put them at the risk of failure.
The Crusades are several wars that went on between the Muslims and the Christians They fought for Jerusalem. Most of the wars took place in Jerusalem. Some positive effects of the crusades were the Established communities that were created in the crusader states by European merchants. The Crusades started in 1095 when Pope Urban II wanted to take back Jerusalem. I think the results of the Crusades was more positive than negative than positive since people lost interest in them. Not only that, they killed and abused many innocents. One of the reasons the Crusades were more negative is because people lost interest in them.
