The 15th century was the start of many voyages and the popular use of ships for trade, traveling, and exploration. Columbus, de Gama, and Zheng He, were all leaders Zheng He was the first major ocean voyager in the 15th century. He led seven expeditions, through the Indian ocean using over 300 massive boats called “treasure ships”. Though, unlike many others in his time, he was not an explorer.
The Age of Exploration is what causes Americans to now celebrate Columbus Day. The Age of Exploration inspired Christopher Columbus to sail west to find the Northwest Passage and wealth. Although it is believed that Columbus was not the first to make it to the New World his discovery caused massive change. The Age of Exploration sparked by the desire of more successful trade routes and goods set off the momentous, Colombian Exchange which led to the spread of disease and swop of animals as well as crops. The Age of Exploration was initiated by the Europeans because of their desire for luxury goods from Asia and a faster way of getting them.

Introduction The Age of Exploration was during the Renaissances period in Europe, it was a time that dealt with the whole of Europe coming out of the dark ages which was during 14th century to the 16th century when the Renaissance ended, of course this was due to the industrial revolution but that is not important… The age of Exploration was a time when many countries in Europe sought a means of power by traveling to the new worlds in aid of helping their own countries by retrieving raw materials, slave labour, rare foods and spices, but also land that they could claim for their own countries. The most famous out of these countries during the time where England and Spain both they ruled large amounts of land during the late Renaissance period, but our main focus is during the early Renaissance period this was the time when Portugal and Spain where both trying to head East to claim valuable raw materials and spice, from India and many other countries along the way.

From Africa, to North and South America, the Spanish, Dutch, English and French were all competing to find new trade routes, new commodities, and new areas to convert to their religion. The Age of Exploration had a tremendous impact on Europe, the Americas, and Africa. On one hand, Europe was able to expand widely across the world spreading their culture. On the other hand, the Americas were discovered and had their original culture changed immensely.
The Age of Exploration was a period from fifteenth century to sixteenth century, during which European explorations thrived. Technological innovations and sailing techniques made expansion easier for the Europeans. The Europeans settled and conquered many lands. The Spanish and the Portuguese started the first wave of exploration. Traveling around the tip of Africa, the Portuguese established trade with countries in the Middle East and broke the Arab and Muslim hold on the market.
Europeans were one of the lucky people who benefited from the Age of Exploration. They found new trade routes and made more money off slaves. The Age of Exploration occurred from 1400 to 1700 C.E. It is famously known as the Age of Exploration because it was a time when explorers from Europe travelled by sea to explore west of them, and make many geographical advances. Exploration was motivated by gold, glory, and God. Along with their motivation, the Europeans also wanted to find trading partners, new goods, new trade routes, and simply find new land. With exploration, there were many good effects and many bad ones.

The technology and writings contributed significantly to the first voyage of Christopher Columbus, European voyagers and colonists were an eye-opener for me as the reader. Although they had the skills and tools to capture their ventures across the transatlantic; the discovery produces a marvelous large and intriguing body of literature. Moreover, I found it quite fascinating how the voyagers and colonists preserved the painting and writing during the period of the European exploration in the 1400’s. Nonetheless, technology revolutionized the exploration as the civilization to America advance with help of Columbus, Young Spaniards, and other voyagers.
The Age of Enlightenment The Age of Enlightenment was a time when the scientific method was used to answer questions and education was more common. Until the 1600’s people would turn to the church to answer any questions about how things came to be but with the new scientific method people started using science to answer questions. After the height of the Roman Empire when education and knowledge was important, the Dark Ages was a time when people were uneducated and society moved backwards.
Without the ships none of the explorations would have occurred. They had a lot of cause to why to explore and without the technology that made it way easier for them, they wouldn 't have made it so far. The Age of Exploration had a lot of new technologies and ideas growing out of the Renaissance, these included advances in cartography, navigation, and shipbuilding. Around this time Christopher Columbus started exploring.
One major change that took place was the invention of the astrolabe which helped sailors to determine their latitude at sea. Cartographers were able to create more accurate maps and sea charts. The Portuguese developed the Caravel which combined the square sails of European ships with the triangular sails of Arab ships. They also had the sternpost rudder and masts of Chinese ships, along with more weaponry such as sturdier cannons (Ellis 365). A combination of the new navigational tools and the caravels made travel easier and safer for many explorers and sailors
Age of exploration changed the world over time and When the New Age was discovered, many new things introduced to the Europeans like new races of people, new cultures and religions, new animals and plant, everything were new. Many people didn’t know how to use the new things that have happened. European and Arab designs the first ships that could leave the easy way passive Mediterranean safely on the open Atlantic. Age of Exploration had many effects, People said that it had Positive and Negative Effects to them, The main Negative effects were 1) Culture being destroyed, by destroying and eliminate the rich cultures and civilizations. 2) Spread of disease, like smallpox, black spots,etc.
