What do you think when you hear the word “War”, you might think about the world wars or you might think of the war on terrorism in the middle east. Whatever you think about there’s the pros and of course cons, it just depends on how you look at it. During World War I the central powers which were made of Germany, Austria-Hungary, The Ottoman Empire and the Bulgarian Empire; all of them you would say were the “bad guys”. The ‘’good guys’’ which were the Allies that included Britain, France, Russia, Italy and the United States. But the war didn’t matter it was all about power and it cost the lives of over 16 million people. Germany declared war knowing they would win because all of the other countries wear tired of war and did not want another war with germany. After just a few months of fighting germany gained almost all of their lost land that was taken way after ww1. After a few years of fighting Germany captured all europe france was under german rule all of the hope was lost for europe the only one that was still fighting was the UK but they were pushed back to their homeland. The only way to defeat germany and axis was to have help from the United States but they did not want any part of the war tell one of the Axis nations decided to attack. One of the most deadly attacks in the United states history was the attack on pearl harbor by the japanese empire. The empire decided to attack the U.S because they controlled a few islands in the pacific and japanese wanted islands that the U.S has control over in the pacific so they wanted to destroy the U.S Navy so they wouldn't put up much of a fight for the islands. After the attack at pearl harbor the us was officially in the war they many focused on fighting in the pacific. While the U.S was sending troops over to the U.K during this time Germany was fighting the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union was the hardest that Germany had ever faced the reason that they underestimated the Soviets and what they are willing to do. At first the german attack was going well but tell adolf hitler decided to try and take stalingrad to break the russian spirit to fight. Meanwhile at britain germany was also trying to break there will fight by bombing the country germany could not afford to invade the island because it was to risky. The battle of stalingrad was the longest battle of the war because it lasted for 2 year to take one city but the russians were able to defend the city after 2 years of erben combat. After the battle the soviet union decided to push the germans back. During that time the UK and the US was about to invade and take back europe. D-day was one of the important battles of the war but it wasn’t going to easy to take back france but this has to happen so the Axis power doesn't take over the rest of europe. On june 6 thousands of airborne troops were already on the ground behind enemy line taking bridges and making it where no one was able to coming in or out of the beachhead.
