Throughout the history of mankind, there has always been a form of rule that relates to the repayment for acts that are ethical and unethical. For ethical acts came rewards, and for the unethical came discipline in many forms. One ideology towards the treatment for the unethical is the death penalty. This law is as old as time. The death penalty has been used since ancient times for a variety of crimes. The death penalty can be traced as far back as the Eighteenth Century, from the Code of King Hammurabi of Babylon. Which applied the death penalty to many of his laws. It can also be seen in the Fourteenth Century in the Hittite Code and in the Seventeenth Century Draconian Code of Athens. Over the years the public point of view of the death penalty has, and is still changing. The death penalty is looked as such a so severe sentence, that many argue that it decreases crime rates through the belief that many will not commit a crime, to avoid it. So this will lead criminal’s to think about the consequences of their actions before committing the crime. However, it's believed criminals rarely think about the consequences of their actions. Especially if they find passion in the crimes they commit. By killing felons, that deserve killing, the death penalty takes away the difficulty of housing them within the prison system. Prison is becoming overcrowded, with limited resources. Due to a number of prisoners on death row, it will costs more to feed, house, and to keep them secluded. Also, the possibility of criminals receiving paroled, can always to the possibility of them committing another crime. This all could be resolved by simply killing
