Telling fortunes, showing peoples faces in glasses, enchantments, and healing the sick are some of the things people who practiced witchcraft claimed to be able to do. New Englanders often turned to people who could do these things for favors and referred to them as "cunning folk" (pg.107). The New Englanders didn't see any harm in using their occult powers for there own good, when in fact these people were in contact with the devil. They did not see it that way but they were indeed risking being banished to hell.
Through partaking in interaction rituals, individuals become members of something greater than themselves. This feeling of being apart of something greater than oneself provides a moral community for the individuals, which then guides individuals in their beliefs and behaviors. It is similar to a never-ending circle; as individuals see the emotionally charged environment that this religion provides, they want to be a part of it, so they partake in unusual rituals, which furthers their engagement and emotional connectedness to their community. It almost reminds me a bit of an addiction. This community turns objects, such as poison and snakes as sacred, which in turn creates a sacred and profane world.
Can hoodlums like The Greasers be considered honorable? The book The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton features The Greasers, considered hoodlums but don’t act like typical hoodlums. They are better than that because they always stick together. Honor can be displayed in many ways like sticking up for each other, standing together, being brave, and doing the right thing. The Greasers are honorable because they will risk their lives for anyone, they will always stick up for each other, and they will defend others.
Many people have given their lives to further the growth of the Church throughout the world and indeed many have admitted that even if God Himself were to visit them and suggest Joseph Smith was not really His messenger, they would not believe him, but would rather believe in Joseph Smith. This type of fanatical belief is indicative of how this belief has grown and perhaps that it may well be considered in the realm of “cultism” as well as simple religion? This type of fanatical belief is not limited to the Mormon Church. Indeed you find it in the Catholic Church and many of the southern Baptist churches and other protestant faiths throughout the world and certainly in the Moslem religion.

The art of Shintoism focuses on the natural beauties of the world, for example flowers and mountains are usually involved in most Shinto art. The founders of Lollardy (Lollardism) are unfortunately unknown, yet it is believed that the religious movement had initially been led by John Wycliffe (1320 – 31 December 1384). In the mid-14th century people without any academic background or people that had no education were called lollard, lollardi, or lollers. in the mid-15th century lollard was a name of disgrace, given to traitors and heretics. An active group of lollards during the reign of Richard II were known as “lollard knights”. They became an underground organization once King Henry IV took measures to subdue Lollardism.
In the poem ‘’Goblin Market’ ’the theme of religion is portrayed and relates to Islam temptations. In the poem, Lizzie and Laura are sisters who are tempted by the goblins who use sweet language to persuade them to try out their fruits. This relates to the story of Adam and Eve, who are tempted by Satan to taste God’s forbidden fruits. The serpent uses sweet language to entice them. They both face the consequences of their actions after eating the fruits.

There were so many cultures that stood out, but the one that was the most interesting was gang culture. There is one gang that I would like to talk about and that would be MS13 which is the Mara Salvatrucha. This is a combination of Mara, meaning gang, Salva, for Salvador, and trucha, meaning street smarts.
