In this era your life depended heavily on your class, unlike today. Thing such as clothing to what you did described everything about you, what you do , and how your life played out even as a child. This time period your parents’ either blessed you with a high class or cursed you with back-breaking labor for the rest of your life. Some needed information that needs to be known about how this era came to be are, why it started, who ran this era, and why it ended. The three classes are the working class, the middle class, and the higher class men. The majority of people in this time was the working class members who worked in the agricultural labor, domestic servants, and factory hands(Mitchell 18). The middle members were mostly made up of members of the church of England clergymen, military and naval officers, men in higher-status of the law, and doctors. Many of the middle class member were inspired to join the ranks of the nobles as well. Some middle class men and higher class men who were shopkeepers were craftsmen by trade and crafted their own products on site and sold it in their shops. Working labor was a key thing in the Victorian Era just as it is today. With working labor came obstacles and journeys. During this time period, there was no way out of this job due to you being born into this class. Examples of work that had to done was the railroad, and how it had to have gentle, well-banked turns, and cuts for tunnels and bridges that were needed to span the obstacles that came in the way (Mitchell 59). One thing’s for sure though, the Victorian Era is one of the longest eras lasting almost a whole century, this time period also has so much more to be known about it than we know now. Though this time was over a century ago, many things haven’t changed from then to now. For example, the class levels have’t changed much the working class is the factory workers and low income people, middle class people are farmers, military men and women, and law enforcement. The higher class men are large business owners, high income families, and the one and only President of the United States. We still have much to learn from the Victorian Era and we will soon find out how much more there is to be
