What would you do if a member of your family were to be kidnapped? Carter and Sadie are siblings and are descendants of powerful pharaohs, who ended up crossing the continent to save their dad. Their parents were from two long lines of magicians so they are the most powerful children to live in centuries. They are two teenagers who are given the task of defeating the god of the desert, Set. Their adventure starts when their dad gets trapped in a coffin and kidnapped by Set. Their Uncle Amos takes them to his house, which gets attacked by monsters almost immediately. Carter and Sadie together are brave and smart. An example of this was when they tricked the bloodthirsty goddess, sekmeht. They did this by telling her that three silos full of salsa was the blood of her victims. She ate all of it happily, passed out in a spiciness coma, and became peaceful. Carter is brave and witty. An example of this was when he crossed the bridge to the First Nome. He blocked all the knives being thrown at him by the statues and when he got to the other side, he made a joke about it even though it was incredible. Sadie was a smart fighter when she opened the library by remembering an explosion spell from listening to Amos. One of the ways that Carter and Sadie grew was with their magic, because they only had a few days to learn and practice it. Their enemy, Set, is a demon who was born on one of the Demon Days and is planning to turn the whole world to desert with magic. He already tried to do this once before and created the Sahara Desert. He is clever and can manipulate people without even possessing them. He did this when he manipulated Amos into sabotaging the magic barrier around his house so the monsters could get in and attack Sadie and Carter. This is why their house got attacked so soon. He is also clever because he made a plan and knew exactly when to put it into action for it to work. Set did not grow as much as a character. He stayed stubborn, convinced that what he was doing was
