How far can lying really go? The Crucible, which is a play written by Arthur Miller is based on the story of the Salem Witch Trials. This play takes place in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. Abigail was definitely responsible for all the bad things that happened, she was very manipulative, evil, and jealous. She started telling little lies at first and then she realized she could get away with telling big lies so she continued. Abigail threatened the other girls not to tell, so they went along with all her lies. Her lies caused multiple people to be accused of witchcraft and get killed. People were so scared of being accused and were careful of everything they did. A group of girl were caught dancing in the woods with a slave from Barbados named Tituba. They were caught by one of the girls father, Rev. Parris. Betty was his daughter and Abigail was his niece.
