What is a superhero to you? Well in the American Revolution a hero had a different definition. There was no batman or superman but real people who helped others for the better good. George Washington would be considered that kind of person. He helped the American Revolution by leading the continental army to many victories against the British army. This lead to the colonies getting Independence from Great Britain. He became one of the most important people in the American Revolution and the American History. George Washington was not always a General in the war. He started of being a young messenger for the Colonies during the French and Indian War. He still went into the battles and eventually won the war against England. Before the win there were many struggles. Starting with the soldiers and supplies. Even though Washington had little to fight with he still managed and won many important battles including: The Battles of Trenton and Princeton, The Battle of Saratoga, The Battle of Camden, The Battles Kings Mountain and Cowpens and the Siege of Yorktown. George Washington came from being a young messenger to a successful general in the continental army. This shows how he sacrificed his life for the colonies so that they can gain their independence from England. Now there were many superheroes during the American Revolution but there were also villains. For example Benedict Arnold was considered a villain. He was a very important figure in the American Revolution because of the things he had done. Benedict Arnold was a colonist that had a high position in the continental Army. He was a general and had fought alongside Washington. They were really good friends but after the war things changed. When the colonists won George Washington was the man in the spotlight. Benedict Arnold wanted a higher position because of his efforts in the war but was ignored. This led to him becoming a spy for the British. He had his own troops and tried to fight some of the continental troops but they found out he was a spy and he had to run away to
