Baseball is a very populated sport all over the United States and is fun to play for all ages. It is an interesting sport that can take anywhere from two hours to six. The rules are complicated and it is known as one of the slowest sports today. Baseball dates back to the 1870’s and has been played by many amazing players over the years. Today we have some superstars that play in the MLB like Bryce Harper, Aaron Judge, Mike Trout, and more. In this essay I will explain the rules of baseball, its history, and some of the star players today.
The rules of baseball are kind of basic but can get very confusing. First, in a normal game there are 9 innings, unless you go into extra innings when the game is tied. Next, there are three outs in an inning, and that’s when the inning ends. To get out you either strike out with three strikes, get tagged out or thrown out at a base, or your ball gets caught in the air. When you get on base, it can be a single, double, triple, homerun, or grand slam. A home run is when you hit the ball over the fence in the outfield, and a gram slam is when you hit a homerun when there is a person on every base.
