The book “Happy, Happy, Happy” was written by Phil Robertson. Phil stars on the show Duck Dynasty, he has also written other books such as Duck Commander Family and Si-Cology. Phil Robertson started the very successful business Duck Commander. Phil had been building duck calls before he started his business. He got the nickname “Duck Commander” from his friend when he was duck hunting, and had pulled out his duck calls he built and started using them.

As a child, Sinclair moved around a lot because his father was unsuccessful in his career as liquor salesman. His love for reading began when he was around the age of five, but he did not receive a formal education until the age of ten. He graduated from Columbia University with a major in law, but his passion was always writing.

Richard Connell’s short story, “The Most Dangerous Game”, tells the story about the relationship between the hunter and the hunted reaching to extremes. The story starts out with two people on a ship, Whitney and Rainsford, talking about hunting. Whitney argues that hunted animals don’t want to be hunted, as they fear pain and death. Rainsford simply retorts that he does not care how the animals feel. While passing an island, the two feel a sudden chill.

Francis and Margaret Macomber, a rich couple from America wanted to go hunting, and hired a man named Robert Wilson, a professional hunter. Wilson is an englishman who guides people on safaris, and has native servants who help him and the couple. He often beats his servants if they do not do their job right, but he says “They prefer it to the fines. "(Hemingway p.3 para.13).
In Hemingway’s short story, “The Short, Happy Life of Francis Macomber” Hemingway uses the writer’s craft of perspective to develop the characterization of the three protagonists. Wilson, Margaret, and Macomber’s characterization is developed through multiple perspectives which creates a negative tone throughout the story. As the short story goes on, Mr. WIlson’s judgement of Francis Macomber is one of dislike, to then one of condemning, and finally, to one of liking. To demonstrate, Wilson’s first thoughts on Macomber are expressed here, “So he’s a bloody four-letter man as well as a bloody coward, he thought.

The characterizations of shame, cowardice, and confidence are developed throughout the story on the character of Francis Macomber. A characteristic that is developed on Francis is the aspect of shamefulness. The shame that is brought upon him is shown through his choices and the reactions of the characters around him.

Macomber has the opportunity to kill a lion, but he runs away. This makes his character stray away from the story’s idea of what a real man is. A real man in this story is portrayed as courageous, prideful, and he must also have a beautiful woman at his side.

To Hemingway’s characters, things that appear to be grounded in reality and unmovable facts frequently are not, revealing themselves to be hollow, personal mythologies. Hemingway shakes his characters out of their comfortable ignorance through traumatic events that usually cause a certain sense of disillusionment with characters mythologies, moving them to change their way of life. His characters usually, after becoming disillusioned, respond with depression, suicide, and nihilism. However, this is not always the case.
