When the pretty girls arrived and the young boys were attracted to them and tried to resist temptation, “The advent of the two young women made the younger monks restless and distracted, and it was best to get them out of sight” (74). The Monroe Doctrine was a threat to European nations for multiple reasons. To begin with, the Monroe Doctrine was a document that was written by John Quincy Adams. The states that were affected by the Monroe Doctrine are the European countries and the independent, smaller countries such as Mexico. The main thesis of the Monroe Doctrine is that America has forbidden Europe from invading other individual countries. The doctrine is a threat because it states that foreign countries are forbidden to enter and colonize land in the western hemisphere.

The visit from Sister Lisa was very informative and interesting. She basically has the background story I would expect from a typical Sister. She was raised at a Catholic school and her life revolved around the church and school because her dad was a teacher at her school. However, Sister Lisa is anything but your typical Sister. She has always been big into sports and said that the hardest decision in becoming a Sister was giving up coaching.
Sisters: a close friend who is always there for you no matter what. In Another Brooklyn, by Jaquline Woodson, Gigi refers to her close friends August, Sylvia, and Angela as sisters; they were supposed to always be there for each other and do anything to see each other succeed. However, while Gigi pursued her acting career, her sisters did not support her. Gigi was a half-Chinese, half-black American teenager who grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Gigi’s mother educated Gigi about their family, and often compared Gigi to her great-grandmother because they both had thick, dark hair.

The basic principle of servant leadership is serving others and the community. The three principles of the servant-leadership are sharing the power, putting the needs of others first and helping people achieve their highest potential so that they may want to serve others. This creates an environment of trust, collaboration, teamwork and group improvement. Robert Greenleaf created the term, Servant Leader, and creating the idea of leading by serving with individuals and organizations. In one of his major essay’s, The Institution as Servant, Greenleaf (as cited in “What is Servant Leadership,” n.d.) expressed what was frequently called the “credo.”
‘Simply said,’ it’s the ultimate experience of a lifetime – an experience unlike any other,” (Sorority Life: The True Meaning of Sisterhood). Sisterhood involves charity events and getting dressed together and maybe even being roommates. Sisterhood is true friendship, but better. Sororities aren’t about paying for your friends, it’s about making something of yourself while also bringing up other women with you. Being a part of a sisterhood is probably the best choice any female could make to help her improve herself in any way.

An old Vietnamese proverb says that ¨brothers and sisters are as close as hands and feet¨(Siblings). One can never fully forget a sibling nor can one fully deny the love shared. Siblings may fight, but they will make up because their love overshadows their hate. Siblings are so close that they know each others weak points and may exploit them at times, but will protect them when outsiders interfere. Siblings often bring out the best and worst in each other.
