The two passages, “The Smell of Fresh Paint” by Sergeant Tina M. Bella, and “International Reality Consultants, IDT.” by Amy Vaughan, are both told by narrators who are in the center of the events. This being said, I would change one of the stories point of view to try and make it easier to understand. I would say that “International Reality Consultant, IDT.” would be a good story to have a different point of view on because it may be easier to understand the meaning. On the other hand, “The Smell of Fresh Paint” would not be a good passage to have a different point because it is more of a first-hand experience, unlike the other passage. I believe that “International Reality Consultants, IDT.” by Amy Vaughan, would be a good story to change the point of view on because the meaning of the story is difficult to understand the point of view it has now. Bella, would not be a good story to change the perspective on. The story is more realistic since it is a letter from Sergeant Tina M. Bella to her parents. She explains how there was an explosion at her work and how bad it was. This story is more believable compared to “International Reality Consultants, IDT.”, which was more dream-like than this story. If the perspective were different the story may not be as easy to understand and would be more confusing. In conclusion, the two stories are similar with the main character be in the center of event but “International Reality Consultants, IDT.”, would be better with a different perspective in my opinion compared to “The Smell of Fresh Paint”. “International Reality Consultants, IDT.”, is a little confusing with its perspective but, “The Smell of Fresh Paint” would be confusing with a different
