Many things occur among people every day. Based on a true story, the soloist is a great story about a man and friend who had a psychological disorder that changes both of lives. As a result they became the best of friends and still to present day. According to the words of Steve Lopez he says, "There are people who tell me I 've helped him. Mental health experts, who say that the simple act of being someone 's friend can change his brain chemistry, improve his functioning in the world. I can 't speak for Mr. Ayers in that regard. Maybe our friendship has helped him, but maybe not. I can, however, speak for myself. I can tell you that by witnessing Mr. Ayer’s courage, his humility, his faith in the power of his art, I 've learned the dignity of being loyal to something you believe in. Lopez and realize that he was only mad at the fact that he went crazy. It was only bad until his sister came in to town and then he came to senses. Then Ayers apologizes to Mr. Lopez about what he has done and still to this day they are best of friends. Mr. Lopez is still writing for the Los Angeles Times and Nathaniel Ayers is still playing music on the streets. The most incredible thing about this story was that Mr. Lopez learns more from Ayers then Ayers learn from him. A simple act of kindness didn’t cure Mr. Ayers but he remembers him and most of the time, Mr. Ayer’s mind is at rest when Mr. Lopez is around. That makes a difference in my book.
My question to you is what Disorder did Mr. Ayers have? The Psychological disorder that Mr. Ayers have is called Schizophrenia. According to the book, Psychology Perspectives and Connections, Schizophrenia is psychotic disorder characterized by significant disturbances in thought and emotion, specifically problems with perception. It’s basically saying that a person is rarely at ease with things and they voices I their head that’s not theirs. A couple
