The story Holes was about Stanley Yelnats, who was bullied in school because of his weight, and was later accused of stealing a pair of shoes from Clyde Livingston. Since he was supposedly cursed by his "no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather,” Stanley was then sent to juvenile, Camp Green Lake, for stealing the shoes. When Stanley arrives at Camp Green Lake, he is told that everyday he has to dig five by five feet holes, using their shovels as a measuring stick. I really found this book very interesting, because of the unexpected plot twits and what Stanley and Zero, later on in the story, did. The author made me want to continue reading the book, because I wanted to figure out why they had to dig holes every day. At the
