The Analysis of the Stranger, John Wilson in The Secret Lives of Sgt. John Wilson Heroes in literary works were once referred to as the "rebel"; however, the rebel has been replaced by the "stranger" in recent literature. In Lois Simmie's The Secret Lives of Sgt. John Wilson, the novel centers on the title character who is alienated, disaffected and an outsider. The author’s depiction of the central character of Wilson as a stranger engages the reader in a different way, by having the reader want to know more about this mysterious and striking figure.

He causes Christopher to act secretively, as he does not explain what was wrong in the situation. This happened when Christopher was inquiring about Wellington- his father responds by telling him to ‘Not go around sticking your ******* nose in other people’s business’ (82), but not fully elaborating on how so. This leaves Christopher to try testing a gray area, especially since he is autistic and will take everything in a literal manner.
Raising a child like Christopher is very difficult. Christopher often disappears in the middle of the night to go out for walks and quickly becomes overwhelmed in new environments. For the better well-being of Christopher, Ed tends to be very overprotective of him. An example of this is shown when Christopher wants to do detective work to find out who killed Wellington. This idea suggests that Christopher has to talk to strangers which he is not comfortable with.
The people accept what they are told. In the book, people do not stop and think. They don't take things in, nor pay attention. Even in school they are not required to think.
As he kept reading he states how he no longer felt that the world was hostile killing, he knew it (p.451). This lead to another strong desire and hunger, which was for a new life. Eventually, he began to plan to go north because he was not satisfied with the life he was living (p.452). This book was one that demonstrates readers how much can be taken for granted, as this courageous boy decided to break the rules and look for answers. Many times, one can feel lost in a world full of so much chaos.

“Stranger in the Village” is an essay written by the famous African American author James Baldwin, in the story he details his life as an African American living in a small mountain village in Switzerland. Baldwin begins the essay by explaining how the residents were fascinated by his blackness because they had never seen a black man before. The village is four hours from Milan and three hours from Lausanne, but because it is in the mountains, it is extremely isolated. Only 600 people live in the village, and its only attraction is hot spring water. Baldwin spends two weeks there one summer and returns that winter to work in a place with no distractions.
Robert Frost describes the idea of escaping from life’s problems through the imagery of birch trees. To begin, Frost starts the movement by saying when he sees the birches bend, he “like(s) to think some boy’s been swinging them” (Frost 3). Which brings up the idea of escaping. He continues this idea in the next lines, “But swinging doesn’t bend them down to stay./ Ice- storms do that.” (4 & 5).
Christopher’s view on both are very limited compared to others. He explains that life to him is very hard to understand no matter how long he thinks of it. When Christopher goes on the investigation of who killed Wellington his view on life and the world will change

In this paper, I choose Georg Simmel’s article stranger as my analysis passage. George Simmel was born in Germany at 1918. He is a Jewish. His mainly research area in sociology is concerning the relationships of humans in modern urban society. His theory and concerns talking about people’s society and community indeed attracted me a lot .
Robert Frost was a great poet for many reasons. He was well known for the complexity of his poems and the imagery associated with it. He describes places, people, and interactions between them that you wouldn’t think about. He also used very intricate diction in his writing so everyone could understand and appreciate his work. The reason why he appeals to most people is that he tells life lesson’s in his poems.
The final ending of the world is in question to many individuals. In the short poem, “Fire and Ice”, by Robert Frost, he outlines a familiar topic, the fate of the world’s destruction. In nine lines, Frost conveys the contradiction of the two choices for the world’s end. Frost uses symbolism to convey the meaning of fire and ice as symbols for human behavior and emotion. This poem revolves around two major symbols.
