I learned that the key conflict in the book is deeper than Christopher’s aim to discover the murderer of Wellington. Instead, it is about Christopher’s unorthodox goals and the obstacles within his life. For example, he wishes to over and consult the neighbors about the murder of Wellington, yet he cannot have a simple conversation with a stranger. He also wants to travel to London to find his mom, yet he can hardly critical think make this trip overwhelming. Christopher wants to fulfill his goals, but he is faced with his own trials in his life. Amazingly, he manages to overcome these challenges.
