OSHA protects employees from dangerous situations. Under the OSH Act, employers are responsible for providing a safe and healthful workplace. OSHA 's mission is to assure safe and healthful workplaces by setting and enforcing standards, and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance. Employers must comply with all applicable OSHA standards. Employers must also comply with the General Duty Clause of the OSH Act, which requires employers to keep their workplace free of serious recognized hazards (osha.gov).
Regulations, Standards, and Ordinances The Vet Center is a rental property that is being use by their employees to conduct their daily operations. The facility falls under Charleston VA Medical Center and must adhere to their Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) and local ordinances. The VA Medical Center security inspects the property on an annually basis. If requested, security personnel will visit the site for any issues or problems. RECOMMENDATION: The facility does not have any written regulation posted or available on site other than their SOP.

Therefore, adequate measures must be implemented to extenuated environmental and occupational hazards. The occupational and environmental health takes a multidisciplinary approach as it relates to the correct identification of diseases from exposure hazardous agents in the community of in the workplace.
OSHA obligations include other factors besides keeping your work site safe. A company must also meet certain reporting requirements, posting requirements, and recordkeeping requirements, and you must submit to OSHA inspections. For example, you must report fatal accidents to OSHA within eight hours of their occurrence. You must post an OSHA poster informing workers of their rights and obligations under the law. You must also keep records of your efforts to comply with the law and to prevent injuries and illnesses (OSHA).
The Occupational Safety Health Act helped create safety codes that all businesses must follow. These codes helped prevent deaths and injuries. The Occupational Safety Health Act states that in order for a job to pass inspection, it must have clear routes to all exits, several working fire exits, unlocked doors during working hours, firefighting equipment that everyone knows how to use, fire sprinklers, and a fire evacuation plan in event of fire (Lange 84). These regulations all help prevent chaos during fires because it allows for easy access to exits in an emergency, and it gives an opportunity to stop the fire before it becomes out of control. Not only did the Occupational Safety Health Act provide safety codes, but it also deals with on the job injuries, illness, and deaths (Lange 84).
I agree Tesheika, Industrial Hygienists have an important role in ensuring that the safety and welfare of workers is a top priority among many businesses and industries. Their job is to enhance worker environments and make them safer, and in doing so make these businesses more efficiently run. Good recordkeeping allows industrial hygienist to form a well-organized understanding of what is known about work environments, what could be improved about an employee’s work conditions and/ or working atmosphere, as well as learn about many issues that may be unknown threats to an employee’s wellbeing. A significant change occurred in 2002, when OSHA revised its record keeping rules; “Provides a single set of recording criteria for both work-related injuries and work-related illnesses (The former rule required employers to record all illnesses, regardless of severity)” (placeholder). This revised rule definitely had a positive effect in my workplace, which in turn reduced our workplace injury rate.
A work environment requires more consideration for those around you and how your actions impact their health and wellbeing. It is astonishing to realise how quickly germs can spread through basic hygiene neglect. Poor hygiene can contribute towards many health-related problems. We have already explored how infection control can reduce these risks but it is always worth reminding yourself of these.
