I believe that your father were very accurate when he said, “They were not about faith.” “They were about faith. I believe that he was referring to the Taliban. The Taliban used the religion, Islam, as an excuse for their intolerable actions.
The meaning of the quote, “They were not about faith.” They were about Power.” means the Taliban were not trying to just promote extreme Islamic faith, they were using the name of Islam to obtain power in Pakistan. There faith was very strong but they were creating false rules to cover up for their mass murders and crimes. Whenever a person was murdered by the Taliban they said it was their duty and they were doing it for god.
