Signed by President Roosevelt, the Tennessee Valley Authority Act was created May 18,1933 to manage the construction of dams to control flooding, improve navigation, and create cheap electric power in the Tennessee Valley Basin. When founded in 1933, the Tennessee Valley Authority was a tremendously provocative organization. The TVA was given the full responsibility of providing electricity, improving foundation, and improving the attribute of the life of the severely depressed individuals living in the Tennessee Valley as part of President Roosevelt’s New Deal and his first hundred days, in which he introduced many new programs to lead the nations economy and put people back to work.

The Brain Trust was a set of scholars placed together to shape out the policies of the New Deal before President Roosevelt`s inauguration. Colleagues of the group were Raymond Moley who was an American journalist and public figure; attorney Basil O`Connor Rexford Tugwell, Adolf Berle from Columbia University, and later on, Felix Frankfurter from Harvard Law School. A Maximum of those men worked in official posts during Roosevelt`s term but they never met as a group after his inauguration.
