“Telling a teenager the facts of life is like giving a fish a bath” (Arnold H. Glasow). This quotation represents the concept that adolescence is the time to be reckless, no matter how much advice teenagers receive and this behaviour is not resolved until you reach adulthood. This idea is the main focus throughout Elizabeth Kolbert’s essay, “The Terrible Teens”.
