In the book Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, there are endless themes relating to different topics. However, the topic of hate seems to be a recurring topic that isn’t payed as much attention to. Hate is futile because it pushes people away from each other, this theme is shown by characterizing Capulet and his uncaringness as responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. Not only did he threaten Juliet with disowning her if she refused to marry Paris, but he was also uncaring of her emotions, which led Romeo and Juliet to pursue their dangerous plan of running away. In the end, he lost Juliet, who never even married Paris. While Friar Lawrence is also to blame, he wouldn’t of had to help out Romeo and Juliet if Capulet had let Juliet
