Is Mercy Killing Merciful Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be fully paralyzed since you were born, of to become brain dead at age 10 and like your whole life doing nothing? Not much fun, so why would you let these people suffer. In the story of mice and men Lennie is somewhat like this, he doesn't register things in his head as well as others, and during during the great depression it was a horrible time for lennie to be alive. The story shows how mercy killing should be a thought for people whenever something bad happens to someone. It also shows that George is very kind and actually cares about Lennie. George did the right thing, there is really no other why that people would have wanted to see it go down than a mercy killing. George did everything right.
