Honestly, I have never read an English book before until I found a catchy one. It is the most interesting book that I have ever found in Ku, library. I borrowed it for the first time that I saw a strange title and read 1 page. The book is The Top 10 Ways to Ruin the First Day of School, written by Kenneth Derby. After I read it just 1 chapter, I could not put it down because it was very funny and amazing. In my opinion, the writer is very creative and excellent because he illustrated this unique story like I stand with main characters and see everything happens in this book. There are many great vocabularies, consisting both easy and difficult words which I could clue them from contexts. Moreover, I like the 10 lists in the last page of each chapter. 10 lists are about how to do strange things of Anthony Madison who always send them to the Late Show with David Letterman, his favorite the late night television program, to get on the show some day. First, I know more American society and culture. When American children make mistakes, parents or teachers reasonably talk to children about the reason of doing mistakes before punishing. If children really make mistakes, they will be punished without beating, slapping or hitting but cleaning a room, confining within an area and confiscating something instead so American children will speak only the truth and sincerely express any ideas. Children discipline in U.S.A. is so effective. They have to ask for permission from parents before doing anything and they are not allowed to watch T.V. late into the night so parents give them a T.V. program recording on the next day. Middle school students tend to rename their friends from each friend’s action, for example the name “Tony Baloney” of Anthony Madison got from he always eat baloney
