Valeria Oceguera Extra credit study questions Chapter 3 The concept of absolute threshold is how limited someone can see,hear,smell,taste or touch and how long it takes for the person to notice something with the five senses. Weber’s law is the reaction we have on something depends on our intensity, how long it takes for us to react. Sensory accommodation is how long it takes someone to get use to the change and an example for this law would be in a classroom, if the lights are off for a long period of time and the lights come back on, the students will notice the change in the lights. An example of sensory accommodation would be when students jump or squint their eyes because of the light that was turned on, the students will adapt to the light afterwards. The two types of visual sensory receptors are the rods and cones; Rods are used for no color and are sensitive to light and cones are for color and are sensitive to bright colors. The differences between the these theories is that in the trichromatic theory, the rods and cones are being used for seeing with green,red and blue, even if we are seeing something that is only green we are still using the red and blue to see the green image. Opponent process theory is different by how this theory states that we only use the colors we are seeing for example, if we see a red rose we are only using the red cell to view the red
