On Friday, May 26,2017, at 1222 hours, Officer Hudgins and myself, Officer Alexander, responded to a domestic dispute on 3408 Seabass Rd. Upon arrival, both the witness and the suspect were sitting on the front porch. The victim was inside the resident at the time. The parties were brought outside, identified and separated for interviewing. The victim was identified as Olivia Reynolds.
On Saturday 09/06/16 at about 0530 hours Elizabeth Cervantes-Hocking came into the lobby of the Auburn Police department to provide a statement. I contacted Elizabeth in the lobby, and she stated she wanted to provide a statement for this case because she believed the Police did not get the full story the night of the incident. I obtained a video statement from Elizabeth using my department cell phone and the following is a summary of that statement. Elizabeth said on 07/09/16, the night of the incident, her roommates decided to call the Police because she was screaming. I asked Elizabeth what she was screaming for, and she said she had a long day, and she was in an agitated mood.

PA 604: Domestic Violence Data Exploration Project My research topic for this data exploration project was influenced by reading the Bureau of Justice Statistics 2014 Annual Criminal Victimization Report. From that publication, an intriguing statistic caught my attention and research interest. “The rate of domestic violence, which includes crime committed by intimate partners and family members, remained stable from 2013 to 2014 (4.2 per 1,000). No measurable change was detected from 2013 to 2014 in the rate of intimate partner violence (2.4 per 1,000), which includes victimizations committed by current or former spouses, boyfriends, or girlfriends” (BJS Criminal Victimization, August 2015). I decided to investigate how this statistic was concluded by the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS).
In “No Visible Bruises,” Snyder uses the stories of domestic abusers and their victims to help describe the trends of domestic violence throughout the years along with focusing on how these cases can escalate before anyone notices(even the victims themselves). In Part One of the book, The main story is about Rocky, Michelle, and their families. Rocky murdered Michelle and their two children(then proceeds to kill himself). Snyder explains their childhoods, Rocky’s traumatic childhood(divorced parents and moving to a new area), along with aspects of their marriage(and abuse escalation) until Rocky murders them.
I contacted the male who verbally identified himself as Andrew Hansen. Hansen told me at about 2000 hours his daughters, Amiyah Hansen and Kierra Jones, were playing in the park of the apartment complex. Hansen said he was driving to the store, but drove by the park first to check on his daughters.

Domestic Violence is just one major social justice issue which has become more prominent in the world. According to Royal College of Nursing (2013), domestic violence is an incident involving controlling and violent behaviour between intimate partners and/or family members. It also involves physical and emotional abuse. A practitioner working in the field of domestic violence can apply different theories in order to present the best possible outcome for the service user.
Topic: There should be tougher law enforcement to protect against domestic violence. “The people who could do the most to improve the situation of so many victims being are in fact ourselves. It’s in our hand to stop domestic violence against each other” this statement was said by the famous actor Patrick Stewart. This statement is indeed correct. Domestic violence is an international problem which is everybody’s business even if one is not being abused.
