First, according to Kenny, on page sixteen, if Kenny were to be the one with his lips stuck to the mirror, Byron “would have done some real cruel stuff”. However, when Byron was stuck to the car Kenny did not do anything to him. Kenny did not take advantage when he had the chance.

For example, In “Making Sarah Cry” she is treated differently because of her features, In “The Watsons Go to Birmingham”, they are treated differently because of their skin color. The passages are different because the themes are represented differently.

In “Making Sarah Cry,” Sarah doesn’t get accepted for who she is, until the end of the poem. Have you ever rode in a car for more than 24 hours? The plot in the book of “Watson’s Go To Birmingham”, is about a family going on a trip to Birmingham in 1963 and experience an event that makes them see how wrong color in the south are treated. The plot in the movie is more about how colored had been fighting for their rights and all the event leading up to everyone becoming equal. In “Watson’s Go To Birmingham”, lots of events changed the plot like the movie is focused mainly on Civil Rights while the book isn 't, but Joey leaves the church before it blows up in both, so there are some similarities. There are many differences between the book and the movie, like in the book they all stayed down at Grandma Sands, but in the movie the dad didn’t stay with them.

As the story is coming to an end, Brody Valentine starts to get cold feet. On page 9 of part 3, Brody wants to give up because he has been through a lot in that school year. This goes against my theme because Brody’s main mission is to never give up, follow signs and lead to great choices. In the last parts of the book, Brody Valentine learns that having people around you always helps with problems and overcoming fears.
