Never Shield a Person That Violated the Law: The Woman Who Got Away Individuals make choices throughout their life by creating a lie in order to get away with a situation. Getting to know a person will take a long time because not everyone acts the same around each other, or is always telling the truth. People can tell if an individual is lying by their facial expressions, the way of their voice, and by the way that they move their body. If there is a problem then a person can also look suspicious, nervous, or strange. Peters felt bad for Mrs. Wright was because the birdcage is a sign that Mrs. Wrights husband may have abused her. According Mrs. Peters, “Why, look at this door. It’s broke. One hinge is pulled apart”(1416). Mr. Wright jammed the bird catch right before he snapped the bird and this shows that he was an abusive man. Mrs. Wright experienced domestic violence because she did not have a stable marriage with her husband.
