Relief short term actions designed to tide people over until the economy recovered. Franklin D. Roosevelt created the three r’s to lift the nation out of the Great Depression which relief had many factors to it like for example the (CCC) Civilian Conservation Corps worked from 1933 to 1942 to give public work to unmarried men or the unemployed. The (PWA) Public Works Administration was also formed was a large-scale public works construction agency in the United States headed by Secretary of the Interior Harold L. Ickes. The last relief program made was the (WPA) Works Progress Administration was the largest and most ambitious American New Deal agency, employing millions of unemployed people (mostly unskilled men) to carry out public works
It also helped to stop more farmers going bankrupt. Roosevelt’s agency bought and slaughtered 6 million livestock to again decrease supply and stabilize the market for meat. The AAA had a major impact on America’s recovery from the Great Depression, because it decreased the supply of crops, stabilizing prices, and keeping farmers in business. Whereas the AAA was a fundamental part of America’s recovery, the WPA (Workers Progress Administration) was instrumental in fulfilling the relief portion of Roosevelt's 3 R’s plan, by providing jobs and income to unemployed men and women as an immediate action to help the economy. The WPA supplied jobs to 3 million men and women.
Another program that was made was the Work Progress Administration (WPA). As a result of the WPA, many buildings, roads, airports, and schools were built and it gave work to many people. Most people who got employed were either painters, musicians, or writers. This program helped about a total of 9 million people in America (Doc B). After the New Deal was created, the unemployment rate went down drastically (Doc D).
Another development of this time period would be the public works administration which improved America through the construction of over 34,000 projects, including airports, massive electricity-generating dams, and roads, as well as 70% of new schools and a third of
After reading the case, "Nursing Facilities Case: Mary", one can't help but to feel sympathy for the family members involved with making the decision to do a hip replacement on such a frail body. Should Mary's family members authorize the double hip replacement? What factors should be considered? Who else, if anyone, should be considered? What are the implications of that decision on the parties invlved: Mary, her children, the faculty staff?
The Success of The Works Project Administration Federal Project Number One By Josh Bush The Works Progress Administration was the most ambitious and largest project of the New Deal. Of all the projects that the Works Progress Administration were responsible for, I believe to be most successful to be the Federal Project Number One. Federal Project Number One, a subdivision of the Works Progress Administration, was established with two goals in mind. The first goal was to gainfully employ the countless actors, artists, musicians, and writers.
Because of the New Deal, more and more people every year were able to work. In Document 6, Ellen S. Woodward, the Assistant Administrator of the Works Progress Administration, describes the positive effects of the program. Not only were children fed, but the meals were also prepared by women who needed jobs. The program allowed women to work, which would otherwise be very difficult for them as they were not priority in the workforce. The New Deal and its various programs allowed unemployment to decline every year, helping the
Management of Care Case Study Josepha is working on a medical surgical unit with three other RNs and one LPN. There is also a male and a female patient care tech. Josepha has been a nurse for four months, and after completing two months of orientation she takes a full assignment as a registered nurse. Josepha feels that the assignments she receives are not always fair, as she tends to get the most challenging clients.
As George Hobbin said “Just knowin’ that for once there was a man to stand up and speak….a man that could make what he felt so plain nobody could doubt he meant it, has made a lot of us feel a lot better even when there wasn’t much to eat in our homes”, those who were going through the hardship of the Depression had hope that their standard of living will improve because of the New Deal. A reform created that greatly escalated the standard of living was the establishment of the Works Progress Administration (WPA). The WPA introduced public work projects that employed around $8.5 million
Roosevelt created the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) which put about 3 million young men on projects such as planting trees and building levees to prevent floods. He also established the Public Works Administration (PWA), it provided jobs by building huge public work, such as roads, hospitals, and school. The Agricultural Adjustment Administration raised farm prices and controlled farm production. Roosevelt asked Congress to pass the Social Security Act created a tax paid by all employers and workers that was used to pay pensions to retired people. Another tax funded unemployment insurance which provided payments to people who lost their jobs.
The rise of nurses during the progressive era was in response to the overpopulated, and unsanitary conditions of the cities. The job of a nurse was to stop the spread of diseases in the community. Lillian Wald coined the term “public health nurse”. Passionate about helping others, she taught nursing classes to immigrants and lower income families.

However, the nation-at-large supported Roosevelt, and elected additional Democrats to state legislatures and governorships in the mid-term elections. Another flurry of New Deal legislation followed in 1935 including the establishment of the Works Projects Administration (WPA) which provided jobs not only for laborers but also artists, writers, musicians, and authors, and the Social Security act which provided unemployment
The government created jobs through public works programs. The government created organizations such as the Civilian Conservation Corps. The CCC planted trees and replaced forests that were cut down for logging. The programs increased infrastructure and provided jobs to people that needed them. Another program sparked by the New Deal was the increased use of the Army Corps of Engineers to provide critical infrastructure to America.
With unemployment rates continuing to rise, my plan is to create an organization that will offer jobs to those in need. The Works Progress Administration (WPA) is an unemployment relief program which I have chosen to form under the New Deal. The program will seek to prevent the unemployment rates from rising and to put an end to the current poverty our nation faces. With the power and wealth of the federal government, the WPA will create public works projects and hire the unemployed which will benefit both the people and the economy.
