I love your input of both subjects; however I disagree with the ideal that The Yellow-paper is realism. Since, naturalism is derived from realism it is a very complex task in identifying which is which. The reason I think it is naturalism is because the story focused on a taboo experiences of that era. Mental health illness was approached a lot different during the time period the story came from. The environment (the room with the wall-paper and her family), hereditary (mental health issue can run in the family) and social conditions (not being allowed to interact with the outside world) were major factors in her deteriorating mental state. The story possess a dark tone throughout the book allowing the reader to understand she had no control
