Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover
Most of the time people judge the appearance of an object or person before really getting to know and see what is underneath the surface. Society now has become extremely inattentive. It is very easy to fall into a trap of looking at only the surface of a person or thing and not taking the time to look deeper into it. Thats where the metaphor “Don’t judge a book by its cover” comes from. No matter how hard people try, it will always be hard to find out what is hiding underneath the surface just by looking at the cover. One very prominent Sub Topic is Misconception. In The Dead Girls Of Hysteria Hall, main character Delia and her family find out that her great aunt had died and has left the house to Delia. While on their way to the house, Delia and her family stop to buy some things from the convenience store, but while being there they found out the so called house is not just a house. Long Ago, it was the Pilven Institute for the Care and Correction of Troubled Females, an insane asylum nicknamed “Hysteria Hall”. As one of the supporting characters stated “ i don’t mean any disrespect, but that's what folks call it, on account of the . . . ah . . . the woman.” He means that people have heard many Horrifying things about the institution and the inmates. However, many of the inmates were not insane, just defiant and strong-willed, in a way, just like Delia. One more situation that proves the topic of Misconception is when the family arrives at the house. Right after Delia and her family got to the house, She decided to wander around and take a look at the place, but as soon as she was walking off she
