From rough, open prairies to a polished college town, Willa Cather’s My Ántonia covers a wide range of settings from start to finish. For the most part, each section of the novel takes place in a different setting, which makes the story feel more like watching a real person’s life progress. Cather’s characters face new and unique experiences and struggles as they travel from place to place. This novel excellently paints a picture of life in rural Nebraska and its inhabitants.
