Today I’ll be talking about Theodor Schwann. I’ll be talking about how he became so important to us today. Some things about Theodor's lifestyle. Also what what Schwann did. Also some reasons why he so important and what made he became so well know. Theodor Schwann was born December 7, 1810 and passed away on January 11, 1882. (Theodor Schwann) Schwann was 72 years old when he passed. He was born in the lower Rhine City of Neuss, Germany.(Schwann , Theodor Ambrose Hubert) Theodor was close with his father who was a goldsmith and later a printer. Schwann grow up in a religious Catholic environment home and then later in life entered into Jesuit College in Cologne in 1826, when he was 16 years old. Intending to serve the church. He later changed his mind and in 1829 began premedical studies at the University of Bonn. (Theodor Schwann, Schwann, Theodor Ambrose Hubert) Theodor mostly lived at College and University. After secondary school at the Jesuit College of Cologne, he entered the University of Bonn in 1829, where he studied natural sciences and medicine. He started his clinical training in Würzburg and two years later, moved to the University of Berlin where Müller had been appointed professor of anatomy and physiology. (Aminoff) Theodor’s religions, political leaders influenced was growing up in a religious Catholic environment he entered a Jesuit College in Cologne in 1826, intending to serve the church.( Theodor Schwann) Theodor was influenced the most by Johannes Peter Müller, Du Bois-Reymond, Helmholtz. Theodor has changed the world in many ways. First by Cell Theory, (studying digestion, and isolating the enzyme pepsin from the stomach lining.) Then second he later showed the role of yeast cells in producing fermentation.Third Schwann also discovered the 'Schwann cells' which compose the sheath around peripheral nerve axons, and he showed an egg to be a single cell which, once fertilized, evolves into a complex
