Imagine this: the world is completely gone, no humans are left and a house is all that is left in a desolate city and the house is all that stands. After reading the text there will come soft rains, it is clear that it's a really dark and chaotic story. Because of the setting and the overall mood of the story. Also how it shows the house being a living thing, how it has a brain, a skeletal structure and how it is a mind like different counter measures against fire. First, it shows in the poem how if there were no humans or trace of them nature would be fine and it shows a somber and peaceful mood in the reader. Through the development of the story and how the changes and the chaos that happens in the story, it is clear that the theme is chaotic. To start, the poem states a soft and calming image in your mind, telling how nature would not remember humans if they were to disappear. In addition, it provides an opinion on people like after a war it would be peaceful and the poem states and spring herself when she woke at dawn would scarcely know that we were gone.The mood that the poem is showing is calmness and how nature and everything can be peaceful with or without humans. Also how the house protects itself using electrical mice to shoot water at it then when the fire runs out the house uses green ooze on the floors to stop the fire from burning the house down and the green ooze is like venom from a snake to an elephant jumping. Also, when the fire tries to take more and gets close to the house's brain, the house uses everything to stop it by sending robots and shooting different liquids.
