Introduction San Diego de Alcala was the first mission in Alta California that Father Serra and Captain Gaspar de Portola established on July 16, 1769. They built it in San Diego Bay, where the tribe named “Kumeyaay” was settling. The Native Americans became mad after the Spanish missionaries treated the native people badly, so they decided to attack the mission. Agency is the power of an individual or group to evoke change in their situation, given impeding external factors. One assumes agency when they realize that they have a capacity to act and in a sense, control of their situation and environment. Golden light from a Texas sunset illuminating stark white fields of cotton, green and yellow tractors leisurely making their way down the middle of Main Street, and a community that will always support you are just a few things one might experience if you came to my hometown in rural Texas. Matador, Texas isn't just a dusty old town in the middle of nowhere, it is a town that no matter who you are or what you are trying to do, hard work is always required; it is where I grew up from the day I was born, spent lazy summer days reading and writing abstract stories without distractions of people, traffic, or even the ever-present cell phone, and where I learned about a whole other side of society, one where the community gathers together for anything
The community I grew up in central Texas celebrated my heritage, honored differences in culture, and fostered personal growth and self-discovery. My parents, with the strong work ethic they developed on their family’s farms in Ghana, encouraged my brother and me to work hard and find ways to use our skills to be of service to others, which wasn’t hard to do growing up in Austin with its many avenues to become involved and take care of the community, whether it was helping to direct families through the Trail of Lights at Zilker Park during the winter or raise money for educational programs for underprivileged kids in the area through working the concession stands at the University of Texas at Austin. It was this collaborative mindset that Austin
El Paso and Ciudad Juarez lie side by side, but are separated by the Rio Grande. The border’s way of life relies on the dividing line. As a resident of Ciudad Juarez, I experience a blend of cultures on an everyday basis. However, in 2010 the unique culture of the city was darkened by the shedding violence in Ciudad Juarez. Ciudad Juarez came to be known as the deadliest city in the world.

This is the story of about a racist dog that I personally experienced back in NOLA for a Mission Trip (New Orleans, Louisiana). So I went to NOLA for a Mission Trip two summers ago with my youth group from church. The trip was a great trip overall. I met new people that I still talk to, to this day. Now this is where things get interesting.
Texas’s geography is diverse throughout its regions. Texas has 4 regions, the mountain and basin, the Coastal plains, the North Central plains, and the Great plains. Each region is a different type of geography unique to its own. These regions also have their own big cities that have their own characteristics. Every city has its own focus on what they want to make in that city.

Texas is a great state to be in. At times I rather live in Texas then any other state. My allergies are bad with this Texas weather. It changes so often we never know what each day will be. I was in Colorado and New York and my breathing and allergies were fine.
Candy wrappers were in the floor, old water bottles still in the cupholders, and jackets, basketballs, and bags piled in the back. It didn’t matter though because we were about to have the time of our lives. The first hour was boring as always. It was boring mostly because there was no new roads to drive or sights to see. It was along first hour, too.
After we awoke from our food comas, we piled in the car and headed to Atlanta. We knew that it would be spicy, but we had no idea what we had gotten ourselves into. The cracks in the restaurant parking lot gave the Grand Canyon a run
